Privacy policy
The short version: Dynorep has no accounts and no servers. What you log stays on your iPhone. The only thing that can ever leave the app on its own is a crash report, and only if you switch crash reports on.
Who we are
Dynorep ("the app", "we") is an iPhone training log for climbing and strength. It is made by an independent developer. Questions about privacy go to support@dynorep.app.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter is stored in a database inside the app, on your iPhone:
- your sessions, climbs, grades, falls, sends, routes, board climbs, hangboard sets and strength sets;
- places and their grading, saved climbs, workouts and exercises;
- injuries, check-ins and how your body felt after a session;
- photos you attach to a saved climb, stored privately inside the app;
- your settings.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server to send it to, and we cannot see it.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-up or email address.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking, and no advertising identifiers.
- No selling or sharing of data. There is no data on our side to sell or share.
- No access to your contacts, location or health data.
Camera and photos
The app asks for the camera or your photo library only when you choose to add a photo to a saved climb, so you can recognise it later. The photo you pick is copied into the app's private storage. It is never uploaded.
Backups
You can export a backup file from Settings. It is created on your iPhone and handed to the iOS share sheet; where it goes next (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email) is your choice and is covered by that service's own policy. Before a backup is imported or your data is reset, the app keeps a safety copy on your iPhone so you can undo it.
Purchases
Dynorep Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. The app only learns from your iPhone whether Pro is active.
Crash reports (optional, off by default)
If you turn on Send crash reports in Settings, then when the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), a crash-reporting service, stored in its EU region (Germany). A report contains:
- the error type, message and stack trace;
- your iOS version, device model and app version;
- a random identifier for this installation, so repeat crashes can be grouped. It is not linked to you or your Apple ID, and it changes if you reinstall.
A report never contains your training data, injuries, body-feel entries, notes, photos, places or exercise names. No email, username or IP address is stored, and no screenshots are taken. We use crash reports only to find and fix bugs. You can switch them off at any time and reporting stops at once.
Deleting your data
You can delete all data from Settings, or simply delete the app: everything it stored on your iPhone goes with it. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing on our side to delete. Crash reports, if you sent any, are deleted automatically by Sentry after a limited retention period, at most 90 days; to have them removed sooner, write to us.
Children
Dynorep is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date.
